Introducing:

Planet Powered Performance

Our Design Philosophy

We believe in creating the best possible product, in all regards.

Pop, durability, and stability are key principles that are maximized in every single ride we produce. Beyond the sustainability of the materials, we believe that the most sustainable product is the one you keep and use the longest. Throughout our testing process we push our designs to the limit, optimizing materials to optimize performance. We test our designs with the philosophy “If we can break it, it’s not built strong enough.”

We’re incredibly proud of the skis we produce, and we know you’ll love them as much as we do. Check out what makes our skis so special.

FSC Certified Wood

Every pair of Specter skis starts with an FSC® certified full wood core that we build in house. We hand select only the best pieces of full length hardwoods and book match through the process to give each pair a consistent, symmetric, and even flex. We refuse to compromise on performance with finger-jointed scraps, knots, or warped grain, unlike the big brands.

To earn FSC® certification, the timber must pass rigorous social, economic, and environmental standards. These standards seek to not only negate the negative impacts of forestry but also actively improve the social, economic, and environmental conditions for all stakeholders.

Bio-Armor

Our proprietary sidewall technology harnesses the superior properties of natural materials to outperform conventional, synthetic, options.

Providing unparalleled edge hold where you need it and vibration dampening in the tips and tails to cut chatter. Bio-Armor is more than just protection, it’s a full-wrap structural rail that provides you the power and stability to conquer any line. This 95% bio-derived sidewall technology can be precisely tuned to fit individual rider’s needs.

No other sidewall technology matches the performance, customization, and sustainability of Bio-Armor. Say goodbye to poor edge hold and compressed edges, and say hello to Bio-Armor.

Natural Fibers

We are stoked to be the first ski company to use a 100% natural fiber reinforcement package in every one of our skis and boards.

  • Made from one of the most abundant materials on Earth, basalt, these fibers are stronger and store more energy than typical glass fibers.

These fibers are circularly recyclable, environmentally neutral, and made without any additional chemicals.

  • The same plant responsible for linen fabric and flax seeds also produces a crucial component of our construction.

Flax fibers have similar stiffness to glass, with the added advantages of being lighter weight and possessing incredible vibration dampening properties.

  • Our combination of basalt and flax fibers provide incredible snap and power, with enough damping to cut through the choppiest of terrain with ease, all while having a drastically lower environmental impact.

Salvaged Veneer

We used a real wood veneer for every one of our ski topsheets, highlighting the unparalleled beauty of natural materials while also further reducing our use of plastics.

All of our veneers are salvaged from super yacht construction, and would have otherwise been thrown out. This allows us to sustainably source precious, beautiful, exotic species and keep these materials out of the landfill. Another way our skis are the most sustainable on the market.

Bio-Based Epoxy

We use Entropy Resins Super Sap epoxy. This resin system offers superior bonding and mechanical performance to conventional options while also sourcing a third of its content from plants. The raw materials account for the vast majority of emissions and impact caused by epoxy manufacturing. Deriving a significant portion of the precursor materials from plants helps to greatly reduce the environmental impact and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
